How to make a sticky trap for flies? Earlier, Fly traps were made simply by dipping a piece of paper in grease, the flies would get attracted and stick to the grease. But the problem with such traps is that they get washed off by water and so is unsuitable for use in open fields where it rains. As Sticky Fly Traps are primarily needed in farms to protect the produce, such a crude method is deemed unviable for the required application. So now a days, the traps are made by coating Hot melt (a waterproof adhesive) on coloured PVC sheets. The PVC attracts the flies or the bugs depending on its colour and the Hot melt coating sticks to the insects body when it makes contact. Hot melt needs to be molten at a specific temperature before it is applied to the PVC. If the Hot melt is heated too high it may lose its tackiness so it is important to maintain a stable temperature. So it requires: 1) A temperature regulated tank, for melting. 2) A temperature regulated pump, for pumping the liquidized Hot melt. 3) A temperature regulated pipe, for carrying the liquid to the Die without allowing it to cool & solidify. 4) A temperature regulated die, for applying the hotmelt to the PVC. The hot melt cools once applied to the PVC i.e. it solidifies at room temperature. Fly Traps exist in multiple forms: Thin sheets, Large sheets, Irregular shapes (eg. Butterfly shape) or Roll form. The Sticky Fly Traps can be manufactured on the following machines developed by Trasy Enterprises, following are the videos of their operations: This model produces Hot melt coated PVC rolls with a covering layer of silicon paper that can later be cut, sheeted or punched into any required shape or size on the cutting & punching machines also manufactured by our company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMEa9EaIjgQ This is an automated model that produces a Sticky Hot melted coated roll without any Silicon paper covering, by employing the roller coating system, in which a heated roller coats on the PVC roll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toE0HJ31pUs& t=2s To send us an enquiry for any of our machines, contact us through: https://www.indiamart.com/trasyenterprises/
