Masking Tape or Painters’ Tape: The composition of masking tape at its most fundamental level is made up of three layers: backing, adhesive and release coat. The backing is generally made from saturated crepe paper. Crepe paper is known for its ability to stretch, allowing the tape to bend and conform around curves. The adhesive is another key element to its usefulness, as it allows the tape to be easily removed without leaving residue or damaging the surface to which it is applied. Trasy Enterprises has developed a machine for making Masking tapes with hot melt coating. It saves production costs wasted in drying water-based coatings and results in high-speed production.
